Ugem Rising Club enter home semis

Ugem Rising Club advanced to the semifinals of the 21st Ugem Rising Cup 2025 with a 2-0 win over United Club of Seraulim in the quarterfinals played at the Ugem ground on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Ugem Rising Club broke the deadlock in the 45th minute through Ruthik Bandodkar. Prathamesh Gaonkar doubled the lead in the 58th minute to seal the victory. Despite efforts by Seraulim players Riyan Asampur and Melroy Pacheco to stage a comeback, the Ugem defence held firm. Ruthik Bandodkar was named Man of the Match and received the award from Fr Ivo Fernandes, chaplain of Ugem Chapel.

Archi wins triathlon silver in Odisha

MARGAO: Archi Katkar, a 14-year-old athlete from Fatorda, won a silver medal in Triathlon Group A at the 40th National Junior Athletics Championships 2025, held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Archi, a trainee of RCC Fatorda under coach Patrick Soares (SAG Athletics), scored 2306 points in the event. Her individual scores were: 60m sprint: 732 points, long jump: 1010 points, high jump: 564 points. Thirteen athletes represented Goa across various age groups (U-14 to U-20).

Reuben wins modern pentathlon silver, bronze
MARGAO: Reuben Rocha, a student of Bethany Convent High School, São José de Areal, won a silver and bronze medal at the 14th Modern Pentathlon National Biathle and Triathle Championships held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, recently. Rocha secured a bronze medal in the U-11 boys Triathle event (2x laser shooting, 2x 300m running, 50m swimming) with a time of 4 minutes and 43 seconds. He followed this performance with a silver medal in the Biathle event (2x 400m running, 50m swimming), clocking 3 minutes and 38 seconds. He trains under RCC Fatorda swimming coach Inacio Netty Raposo.
