United Boys of Ambaulim entered the semifinals of the 2nd Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy, organised by Margao Sports Club in association with Batora United Curtorim, after registering a 1–0 victory at the DSYA ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
In a tightly contested encounter between two neighbouring villages, Joel Baretto scored the lone goal for Ambaulim from a corner kick in the 14th minute. Paroda came close to equalising when Godwin Fernandes missed a one-on-one chance in the 19th minute, while Ashwan Fernandes also squandered an opportunity to level the score before halftime.
The second half saw Paroda push hard for an equaliser, but they failed to find the net as Ambaulim held on to their slender lead till the final whistle.
Joel Baretto of United Boys of Ambaulim was adjudged Man of the Match, with the award presented by Joaquim Fernandes of Batora United.
