Salgaocar FC and Velsao Sports and Cultural Club played out a goalless draw in the GFA Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Thursday.

Velsao SCC created the first chance in the game when Imran Khan sent in a curling delivery in the box from the left flank. However, Salgaocar keeper Jason D’Mello moved out of the goal to collect the ball before it found any Velsao player.

Velsao and Salgaocar then continued to create chances but both sides wasted good opportunities. Velsao Sheldon Pereira and Salgaocar FC Steflon couldn’t make the most of the chances. Salgaocar FC had the best chance to take the lead just before the breather where Mark Carvalho was set on goal. The player covered some ground and beat his marker, and saw his shot narrowly go past the side post.

Salgaocar’s Mark Carvalho received marching orders after collecting two yellow cards in a span of eight minutes and the Greens were forced to play nearly half an hour with a man down.
