Ronaldo, Fredsan net brace in 6-3 win

Ambelim Sports Club produced a dazzling attacking display to overwhelm OGP 6-3 in a high-scoring encounter of the AIFF Futsal Club Championship 2024-25 at Shri Manoj Sarkar Stadium in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, with Ronaldo Rosebud Pereira and Fredsan Marshall leading the charge.

After two matches, Ambelim have four points after drawing with Real Malabar FC Kondotty in their campaign opener 4-4 on August 8.

Ambelim seized control early, striking three times in as many minutes. Pereira opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Velon Joazinho Rebello doubled the advantage a minute later. Fredsan Marshall then made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, capping a blistering spell of pressure.

OGP pulled one back through Sumit Patel in the 34th minute, but Pereira’s second of the match two minutes later restored Ambelim’s cushion. OGP’s Sabyasachi Naik responded in the 37th, only for Marshall to immediately complete his brace and make it 5-2.

Pratyush Kumar Singh netted OGP’s third in the 40th minute, but Ambelim’s dominance was sealed when Dillon Joy D’Silva scored their sixth goal immediately afterwards.

In their first match, a dramatic, action-packed encounter, Ambelim SC clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit to hold Real Malabar FC Kondotty 4-4 in a gripping contest.

The team from Kondotty struck first through Muhammed Luthaife in the 24th minute, before Midhun P T doubled their lead from the penalty spot four minutes later. Midhun struck again in the 34th minute to make it 3-0, and Rinas E’s 37th-minute effort appeared to put the game beyond Ambelim’s reach.

However, Ambelim responded with an extraordinary four-minute blitz that turned the match on its head. Ronaldo Rosebud Pereira ignited the comeback with two quickfire goals in the 35th and 38th minutes. Fredsan Marshall then reduced the deficit further with a composed finish in the 39th, and barely a minute later, Velon Joazinho Rebello levelled the scores.

Ambelim SC (4 points) are now second in Group D, with TOFA (6 points) leading the table with two straight wins. Real Malabar FC Kondotty (1 point) are third with one draw and one defeat while OGP are at the bottom after two losses.
