MARGAO
Aradhya Pradeep Borkar, an 8-year-old swimming talent from Comba, Margao, delivered an outstanding performance at the 36th Junior and Sub-Junior Goa State Aquatic Championship, held on July 11–13 at the Ponda Swimming Complex. Organized by the Goa Swimming Association, the event saw Aradhya clinch seven medals, further cementing her status as one of Goa’s most promising young swimmers.
She secured four gold medals in the 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, and both the 4×50m medley and freestyle relays. In addition, she claimed three silver medals in the 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, and the 100m individual medley.
Aradhya has consistently impressed at various competitions. In May 2024, she won two silver medals (50m butterfly and backstroke) at a meet organized by the Rotary Club of Ponda. She also won four medals at the 35th Goa State Sub-Junior and Junior Aquatic Championship last year — including two golds in relay events.
Her versatility extends beyond the pool. On May 1, 2025, she successfully completed the Mandovi River Crossing from Ribander Ferry to Divar Ferry, organized by Amigos de Clarke.
Earlier this year, she participated in the 8th All Goa Swimming Competition (May 4, 2025), securing two silver medals (freestyle and breaststroke) and a bronze (backstroke). At the 3rd Annual FFL Swim Meet held in June at Sada Swimming Pool, Vasco, Aradhya added two silvers (breaststroke and backstroke) and a bronze (butterfly) to her growing collection.
A student of Vidya Bharati Primary School, Aradhya also excels in academics. She is the daughter of Pradeep and Neelima Borkar.

With her continued dedication and impressive performances at such a young age, Aradhya is undoubtedly a name to watch in swimming.
