Guardian Angel Sports Club booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 17th St. Anthony Festival Cup 2025 with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Carmel SC Navelim. The tournament is being organized by St. Anthony FC Assolda at the Moll Ground, Assolda.
Carmel SC Navelim, playing with just seven players, put up a resilient fight in the first half, holding Guardian Angel to a goalless draw. However, the second half saw Guardian Angel SC shift gears and take full control of the game.
Fedrich Fernandes opened the scoring in the 34th minute, followed by goals from Roston Costa in the 40th and 59th minutes. Cyril Dias added to the tally in the 48th minute. Navelim managed to pull one back through Velington Almeida in the 49th minute, but it wasn't enough to stop the onslaught.
Roston Costa, who netted a brace, was named Man of the Match and received the award from Johncy Fernandes, President of Guardian Angel SC.
