Chess coaching camp conducted successfully at Gaunem

A Chess coaching camp was successfully conducted at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary School, Gaunem, in association with the Ponda Taluka Chess Association. The camp was led by experienced chess coach Milind Gaude, and saw the enthusiastic participation of over 110 students.

The camp was organized in two categories — Beginners and Advanced — to cater to varying skill levels. Alongside the training sessions, a chess tournament was also held in both categories, under the supervision of Chief Arbiter Anand Kurtikar.

The prize distribution ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of Sagar Sakordekar, President, Ponda Taluka Chess Association, Thalima Halhankar, Headmistress of Mahatma Gandhi Centenary School, Anand Kurtikar, Executive Committee Member, Ponda Taluka Chess Association, Milind Gaude, Chess Coach

Prize Winners: Beginners Category: 1st – Gauraksh Gaude; 2nd – Hansuja Naik; 3rd – Utika Gaude; 4th – Shiv Gaude; 5th – Nidish Gaude; 6th – Guruvansh Phadte; 7th – Suraj Kumar.

Advanced Category: 1st – Prinsal Jalmi; 2nd – Kaushik Naik; 3rd – Saidatt Gaude; 4th – Sejal Naik; 5th – Swayam Naik; 6th – Vishwam Naik; 7th – Devdatt Naik.

The program was skillfully compered by Sonam Bhatikar, and began with a warm welcome address by Headmistress Thalima Halhankar. Special efforts were taken by PE Teacher Hanumant Naik, with the support of the Headmistress and school staff, to ensure the smooth and successful organization of the camp.
