MARGAO: Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim stormed into the finals of the 5th All Goa inter-school Jawaharlal Da Costa football tournament, organized by United Sports Club of Seraulim, with a commanding 2-0 win over The Kings School, Sao Jose de Areal, at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
In the Under-14 boys category, Perpetual Succour struck both goals in the first half through Royden Carvalho and Cyndroy Souza.
In the second semifinal, Loyola High School, Margao cruised past Saviour of the World, Loutolim with a 4-1 victory to book their spot in the final. Jaisman Gomes netted a brilliant hat-trick, while Gareth Rebello added another. Ashwin Miranda scored the lone goal for Saviour of the World.
In the Under-12 boys category, Marina English High School, Verna displayed dominant form, thrashing The Kings School, Sao Jose de Areal 5-1 to reach the finals. Nitesh Yadav scored a brace, while Arprit Ming, Nunzio Ferrao, and Ericsson Gama contributed a goal each. Issac Mendes pulled one back for The Kings School.
Loyola High School also secured a spot in the Under-12 finals with a win over Saviour of the World, Loutolim, thanks to a brace by Nathan Afonso.
