Cortalim Villagers edge past Sesa FA

Cortalim Villagers edged past Sesa Football Academy with a solitary first-half goal to book their place in the final of the Salcete Football Club 45th Anniversary Celebration U-14 Football Tournament.

In the match played at the Sinquetim Sports Complex, both sides enjoyed an equal share of possession. Sesa were unfortunate not to score, being denied twice by the crossbar, while Cortalim goalkeeper Badal Ram pulled off two crucial saves to keep his side in the game.

The decisive goal came in the 18th minute of the first half through Jolan Colaco of Cortalim Villagers.

Vawn Ferrao of Cortalim was awarded the Man of the Match trophy, presented by GFA Vice-President Anthony Pango.

In the day’s other match, Salgaocar FC and South Goa United played out an exciting 2–2 draw. South Goa United’s goals were scored by Mavilo Calado and Naiden Braganza, while Salgaocar found the net through Pavel Pires and Casroy Fernandes. The Man of the Match award was presented to Medan Pereira of Salgaocar FC by Salcete FC Managing Committee Member Clarence Furtado.
