Cumborda Sports Club booked their place in the semi-finals of the Fondegal Youth Club 9 A-side Interward Football Tournament 2025 after a dramatic 4–3 penalty shootout victory over Novovaddo Sports Club United in the 4th quarter-final, held at the St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.
Despite challenging rainy conditions and a waterlogged pitch, both teams displayed high energy and determination from the opening whistle. The first half saw several chances created on both ends, with Myson of Novovaddo S.C. attempting to break through the Cumborda defense, but he was repeatedly denied. Cumborda also missed a few clear opportunities, and the half ended goalless at 0–0.
The second half mirrored the first, as heavy rain and muddy conditions made ball control and movement difficult. Despite multiple attacking efforts, neither side could find the back of the net, and the match proceeded to penalties.
In a tense tiebreaker, Cumborda Sports Club held their nerve to edge out Novovaddo Sports Club United 4–3 and seal their spot in the last four.
Bleson Fernandes of Cumborda SC was named Man of the Match for his standout performance.
