MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana secured their place in the finals of the All-Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament, organized by United Club of Utorda in association with the Sports Authority of Goa, after defeating Shiroda Youth Club 3–1 via a tie-breaker.
Shiroda Youth Club dominated much of the first half, creating several attacking opportunities, but both teams were unable to find the back of the net during regulation time as the match ended goalless.
The contest was eventually decided through a penalty shootout, where Curtorim Gymkhana held their nerve to emerge victorious. Joy Hilario, Rhay Dias and Versly Paes successfully converted their spot-kicks for Curtorim, while Royston Vaz scored the lone penalty for Shiroda Youth Club.
Curtorim goalkeeper Johnson Bhagat delivered an outstanding performance under the bar, making crucial saves during the shootout to help his team progress to the final. He was adjudged Man of the Match, with the award presented by chief guest Kanaga Rai of Raj Pentagon, Majorda.
