Dempo Sports Club edged past Sesa Football Academy 2-1 in a thrilling AIFF Sub-Junior League 2025-26 clash at the Sesa Football Academy Ground on Sunday.
Dempo took an early initiative, dominating the opening exchanges, and broke the deadlock in the 6th minute when Melchoir Pereira fired a precise snapshot past the Sesa goalkeeper. Sesa fought back and restored parity in stoppage time of the first half, as Maclon Menezes cancelled the lead in the 45+1 minute.
After the break, both sides continued to attack, creating chances, but neither could find the breakthrough until the dying moments. In the 90+1 minute, John Baptist delivered the decisive strike for Dempo, securing a dramatic 2-1 victory.
The win keeps Dempo in strong contention in the league, showcasing resilience and late-game composure.
