Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda won the Inter Collegiate Tennis Championship 25-26 for Men organized by Goa University at Tennis Court Fatorda Sports Complex, Margao recently.
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda defeated Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna (PCCE) by 2-1 in the final match.
In the finals First singles, Deion Braganca Pereira of DBC Engineering defeated Brullino Fernandes of PCCE College, Verna by 6-1. In the second singles, Punit Fadte of PCCE College Verna defeated Raoul Vas of DBC Engineering by 6-1.
In a deciding doubles, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda represented by Raoul Vas & Ronald Fernandes defeated Punit Fadte & Brullino Fernandes of PCCE College, Verna, by 6-3 to lift the Goa University Inter Collegiate Men Tennis Championship 2025-26.
The Best Player of the tournament was awarded to Punit Fadte of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna.
The Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony Dr. Devashish Bagchi, College Director of Physical Education & Sports, Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao & Guest of Honor Dr. Elroy Pinto, College Director of Physical Education & Sports, St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim along with Balachandra Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University graced the occasion and presented medals and trophies to the winners.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna defeated Govt. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sanquelim 2-1 and Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda defeated St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim-Mormugao by 2-1.
A total of 16 teams participated in the two-day Tennis Championship.
