Goa went down by 68 runs to Hyderabad in their opening match of the Under-23 Women's One-Day Trophy Elite competition on Tuesday. The match was played at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy Ground in Dehradun.

After winning the toss, Hyderabad opted to bat first and posted a challenging total of 282 for 9 in 50 overs. In reply, Goa were bowled out for 214 in 44.5 overs.

Having elected to bat, Hyderabad were in trouble at 137 for 7, with Goa firmly in control at that stage. However, wicketkeeper-batter Mamatha turned the game around with a superb unbeaten knock of 106 off 76 balls, including 15 fours. She stitched together a crucial 103-run partnership for the eighth wicket with K. Srivalli (52). The duo, along with the last two wickets, helped Hyderabad post a formidable total.

For Goa, Harshita Yadav, Pooja Kalel, and Tanaya Naik claimed two wickets each, while Nirmiti Khanvilkar and Savali Kolambkar picked up one wicket apiece.

In response, Goa opener Urvashi Govekar top-scored with 54 runs off 99 balls, hitting six boundaries. Tanaya Naik (30), Presha Naik (27), Swarali Kasar (26), and opener Harshita Yadav (25) also made valuable contributions. Goa were well-placed at 205 for 5 at one stage but suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their last five wickets for just nine runs.

For Hyderabad, Kesari Drithi took 4 wickets for 38 runs, while Vanka Pooja claimed 3 for 50. Goa's next match will be against Saurashtra.
