The Goa T20 Bash leather ball cricket tournament is set to begin on May 25 at the BITS Pilani Ground in Zuarinagar, promising thrilling cricket action and a valuable platform for emerging talent across the state.
Organised by Shiroda Cricket Club and affiliated with the Goa Cricket Association, the tournament will feature six franchise teams competing in the popular T20 format. The initiative aims to promote and encourage young cricketers from Goa by providing them exposure to competitive cricket.
Organisers said the tournament will offer budding players an opportunity to showcase their skills alongside seasoned cricketers. Several Goa Ranji Trophy players are also expected to participate, adding experience and quality to the competition.
“The tournament has been planned to create greater exposure for local talent and strengthen the cricketing ecosystem in Goa,” an organiser said.
He added that playing alongside senior cricketers would help youngsters gain valuable experience and boost their confidence at a higher level of competition.
Cricket fans from Zuarinagar and neighbouring areas are expected to witness closely fought matches throughout the tournament. Preparations for the event are already in full swing, with participating teams having commenced their training sessions ahead of the opening fixtures.
The Goa T20 Bash is expected to attract strong local support while also helping identify and nurture promising cricket talent from the state.
