Goa team clinch first place at 26th National Sqay Martial Arts C'ship in Hyderabad

The Goa team delivered a commanding performance to clinch first place at the 26th National Sqay Martial Arts Championship 2025–26, held in Hyderabad, bringing pride to the state with a standout national-level showing marked by skill, discipline and fighting spirit.

Athletes from Goa, played a key role in the title triumph, collectively winning 13 medals. Radhika Yallappa Hosmani led the charge with two gold and one silver medal, while Shrushti Suraj Benaknall secured two gold and one silver medal. Siddhi Umesh Ravi, Harsha Vinayak Desai, Shubham Dinesh Pal and Himanshu R Kaushal each won a gold medal, with Kaushal also adding a bronze to his tally. Bishal Hemant Kumar Giri and Ronak Milind Gaikwad contributed a bronze medal each.

The Goa contingent’s overall medal haul stood at eight gold, two silver and three bronze medals, underlining their consistency across categories and bouts.

The team competed under the guidance of Siddhesh Shripad Naik, president of the Sqay Federation of India, Anilkumar Pawar, general secretary, and coach and national referee Himanshu Rambabu Kaushal, whose preparation and technical support were credited for the strong showing.
