Goa Velha SC thrash Moira 10-0 in GFA First Division League

Goa Velha Sports Club made a powerful start to their campaign in the GFA First Division League 2025–26, registering a commanding 10–0 victory over 10-man Associação Académica de Moira in their Round 2 (Match No. 13) clash played at the St. Cruz Ground.

Local U-20 player Kaushal Sharma opened the scoring for Goa Velha SC in the 5th minute, capitalising on a mistake by the Moira goalkeeper and slotting the ball into an empty net. Alex Fernandes doubled the lead in the 19th minute and soon completed his brace just three minutes later to make it 3–0.

Diptesh Khandeparkar added the fourth with a low drive past the Moira keeper, while Kaushal Sharma struck again just before halftime to give Goa Velha SC a 5–0 lead at the break.

The second half saw the domination continue. Sowell Fernandes made it 6–0 in the 50th minute, followed by Rahul Baral, who tapped in a cross from Victorino Fernandes in the 67th minute. Sahil Kurtikar scored from long range in the 75th minute to make it 8–0, while Cruz Gomes headed in the ninth goal in the 85th minute.

Former international Victorino Fernandes capped off the emphatic win with a powerful long-range strike in the 89th minute, completing the 10–0 rout.

Rahul Baral of Goa Velha Sports Club was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Marshall D’Mello, official of Associação Académica de Moira.
