The two-week-long Inter-Seraulim Table Tennis and Carrom Tournament, organised by the United Sports Club of Seraulim, concluded with the finals held at the club premises, on Tuesday. A total of 61 participants competed across various categories, and this year's edition saw the emergence of several new champions.
In the Carrom Singles final, Shane Antonio clinched the title by defeating Sandeep Shanke 29-18. Antonio had earlier caused a major upset by knocking out three-time defending champion Tadeo Fernandes in the semifinals.
Carrom Juniors Singles: Benson Souza defeated his elder brother Ashton D’Souza 29-23
Carrom Ladies Singles: Maria Alvares beat Crispine Fernandes 29-18 to retain her title for the second consecutive year
Table Tennis Men’s Singles: Sunil Shanke defeated Agnelo D’Costa 21-16, 21-18
Table Tennis Juniors Singles: Alton Fernandes secured the title for the second year in a row by overcoming Eustace Da Costa 21-15, 21-19
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr Jose Gomes, Parish Priest of Seraulim, who attended as the Chief Guest and presented the awards to the winners. Policarpo Cruz, President of the United Sports Club of Seraulim, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the enthusiasm of participants and the support of the local community.
