Margao Cricket Club advanced to the final of the Nanda Lolyekar Leather Ball Cricket Tournament after defeating Goa Sports Academy by six wickets at the Nirakar Ground, Mashem. The tournament is organized by Mashem Cricket Club.
Batting first, Goa Sports Academy posted 134 in 31.1 overs, with Abhishek Diwadkar (28), Venkatesh Verlekar (26), and Shubham Chari (22) leading the scoring. Mohit Redkar (3-21), Lakhmesh Pawne (2-24), and Deep Kasvankar (1-22) were the standout bowlers for Margao Cricket Club.
Chasing 135, Margao Cricket Club reached 137-4 in 17 overs, with Vasu Tiwari (63) and Hrishikesh Ugale (43) forming a key partnership. Kaushal Hattangadi contributed 13 runs. From the bowling side, Shubham Chari (2-40), Hari Mhamal (1-23), and Saksham Kerkar (1-34) claimed wickets for Goa Sports Academy.
The win ensures Margao Cricket Club’s place in the tournament final, where they will compete for the Nanda Lolyekar trophy.
