Vaddem Boys, Succour defeated Zadda Ponak Small, Chinchinim to win the 10th Annual All-Goa late Rev Fr Edward Francis Rego 3-a-side tie-breaker football tournament, organised by St Joseph’s Boys Home Old Boys Association, Calangute, at St Joseph’s School ground, Calangute.
A total of 98 teams participated from different parts of Goa. Vaddem Boys, Succour lifted the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 while Zadda Ponak Small, Chinchinim had to be content with a runners-up trophy and Rs. 20,000.
The chief guest was MLA Calangute Constituency Micheal V. Lobo who gave away the prizes in the presence of Bro Chandy T, Director of OBA, Alwyn Teles and officials.
Earlier, in the morning session, the tie- breaker football tournament was declared open by the Vice President of the OBA Francis Clarke, OBA Member Francis Fernandes and Fr Rahul Fernandes (OFM).
Individual Prizes: Youngest player of the tournament: Snowlan Colaco; Best Shooter: Mac; Best Goalkeeper: Seby Rodrigues
