Reese Witherspoon is all set work on a film about the origin of Barbie. The movie will focus on the life of the toy's creator Ruth Handler. Witherspoon and her producing partner Bruna Papandrea have acquired the rights to Robin Gerber's book Barbie and Ruth: The Story of the World's Most Famous Doll and the Woman Who Created Her. The film will follow the incredible successes of the Mattel co-founder and her husband Elliot – who conquered the toy industry and the horrible tragedies that beset their family.
