Talk given on LTA systems at PCCE
PANAJI: The department of Mechanical Engineering, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE) organized an inter-disciplinary talk by Dr RS Pant, Professor, Aerospace Engineering department, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay on the topic 'Design and Development of Lighter Than Air' systems (LTA) on November 26, in the PCCE auditorium.
Dr Pant made a presentation on LTA systems, which are aerial platforms that overcome gravity primarily by the buoyancy force acting on them due to a lighter-than-air gas eg Helium. Two main types of LTA systems were discussed. Two case studies were presented and details of a research project related to the development of a prototype of an autonomous outdoor airship were also discussed. The programme was coordinated by Prof Marvin in association with Dr Neena Panandikar and Prof Joe Kurian.
