Youth fest concludes at Sakhali
BICHOLIM: Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant said the State government was instrumental in encouraging hidden potential of about 1500 youth artistes from Goa through the medium of youth festival.
Sawant was speaking at the valedictory function of north Goa youth festival organised at Ravindra Bhavan Sakhali. Nehru Yuwa Kendra (NYK) director V M Prabhudesai, convenor Kalidas Ghatwal, Mukesh Ghatwal, AS Raut and others were present.
Prabhudesai said the government has decided to continue the youth festival at Ravindra Bhavan in the future. “The winners in this festival are selected for the State-level festival, which will be organised on December 15, from where the winners will ultimately be selected for national festival,” he said.The festival was inaugurated by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar in the presence of director of Sports and Youth Affairs Vasantrao Prabhudesai, NYK convenor Kalidas Ghatwal, Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant, Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, Anand Kanekar, Sammer Prabhu and Ashish Thakur Desai.
