In Qatar’s thriving creative industry, few sibling duos have made as lasting an impact as Bosco Menezes and his sister Geraldine Menezes Fernandes, two photographers whose passion for storytelling through the lens has helped preserve countless memories for families across Doha.
Known for their creativity, strong community connections, and ability to capture life’s most meaningful milestones, the brother-sister pair have carved individual identities in Qatar’s photography scene while sharing a common love for documenting human emotions and unforgettable moments.
Bosco, popularly known as ‘BigB’ among residents in Doha, has spent nearly two decades building a career in communications and marketing while simultaneously pursuing his artistic passion for photography.
Recognised as one of Qatar’s 30 most influential community figures in 2019, Bosco has become respected for blending creativity, branding expertise, and people skills in both his professional and artistic life.
Describing himself as a “people’s person at heart,” Bosco says photography came naturally to him because of his love for human interaction and storytelling.
His photography work focuses equine, abstract, architectural photography, he has documented Qatar over the years.
Beyond photography, Bosco is the founder of Qatar's popular community initiative #bigbmeetup, which focuses on art & culture, championing people with special needs, sustainability, sports and mental wellbeing, these initiatives have made him a familiar face within Qatar’s local & expatriate community.
Meanwhile, Geraldine — fondly known as ‘Camera Queen Qatar’ — has built her own journey as one of Doha’s popular family photographers.
Born and raised in Doha, Geraldine’s love for photography began in childhood when she frequently experimented with her father’s camera or borrowed equipment from her brother.
From school events and university gatherings to family celebrations, Geraldine quickly became the go-to person for capturing important moments long before she entered the profession full-time.
Nearly a decade ago, she transformed that passion into a career founding Sharp Shooters International covering weddings and events in India, Australia, Canada, USA, UK, UAE and Qatar. She has since become known for capturing birthdays, maternity shoots, weddings, anniversaries, newborn photography, and family portraits.
Her dedication to building trust with clients has turned many first-time customers into lifelong relationships.
“I am not only a family photographer, I am their family photographer,” Geraldine says proudly.
While both siblings have built independent careers, their journeys reflect a shared family passion for creativity and visual storytelling. It must surely run in the family with their sibling Savio Menezes also being in a creative advertising field.
Their work has become an integral part of many family milestones in Qatar and beyond, where they continue to capture joy, emotion, celebration, and love through their cameras.
Friends and clients often praise the duo for their professionalism, warmth, and ability to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera — a skill that has contributed greatly to their success.
Both photographers also use their platforms to inspire aspiring creatives, encouraging young photographers to pursue their passion with dedication and authenticity.
Bosco advises aspiring photographers to “go with your heart,” while Geraldine encourages newcomers to fully invest themselves in their craft.
Together, Bosco Menezes and Geraldine Fernandes represent a powerful example of how talent, passion, and family support can create lasting legacies — proving that in Qatar, some of life’s most treasured memories are being captured by a brother and sister team dedicated to preserving moments that matter most.
