PANAJI: ‘Dovornnem,’ a book of Konkani essays written by Albert Jaques and published by ‘Dalgado Konknni Akademi’ (DKA) was released on March 12 by Simon Rebello, former chairperson of Canacona Municipal Council and current councillor at Canacona.
The event was attended by Fr Isidorio Dias, the parish priest, Celso Fernandes, DKA president, William Fernandes, vice-president, Fr Myron Barreto, secretary, Vincy Quadros, DKA ex-president, Albert Jaques, the author of the book, Vassalo Carvalho and Isito Gracias.
Simon Rebello stated, “We have to protect our Romi script Konkani and Goan culture for our future generation.”
Fr Myron welcomed the gathering and stressed upon the significant role of DKA in uplifting the Romi Konkani literature.
