Joyful Hearts brings smiles to young cancer patients

PANAJI: Human Touch Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Medical Oncology at Goa Medical College (GMC), marked International Childhood Cancer Day with an outreach programme titled “Joyful Hearts” at Holiday Inn, Mobor, on 22 February 2026.

The event brought together children undergoing cancer treatment, caregivers, doctors, nurses, therapists, and volunteers for a day of support and togetherness. Activities included games, music, face painting, creative sessions, and shared meals, giving families a break from hospital routines.

Peter F. Borges, President of Human Touch Foundation, said the initiative aimed to ensure children felt supported beyond medical treatment. Dr. Anupama Borkar, Head of Medical Oncology at GMC, stressed the importance of emotional and psychosocial care. The foundation thanked GMC and Holiday Inn for supporting the programme.
