Kerala tourist dies after injuries in swimming pool at Sangolda

A 23-year-old tourist from Kerala died after sustaining an injury in the swimming pool of a hotel in Sangolda on Friday evening. According to reports, the incident took place as group of 35 tourists from Kerala had arrived at the hotel in Sangolda two days ago. At about 5.30 pm, Ajay Pulikkal jumped into the swimming pool of the hotel and hit his nose on the floor of the swimming pool. After coming out of the pool, he felt discomfort and the hotel management admitted him to the Saligao Primary Health Center for treatment.

However, as his condition deteriorated there, he was referred to the Mapusa District Hospital for further treatment but was declared dead on arrival. Saligao police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to GMC hospital for an autopsy. Police have registered the case of unnatural death and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Dishan Naik under the guidance of Police Inspector Dinesh Gadekar.
