The Fatorda police have arrested a man from Ponda for allegedly exposing his private parts to minor children at a shopping store at Borda.
The incident is believed to have allegedly occurred on March 26 evening at the Borda store when the complainant was busy paying bills for the items purchased by her at the billing counter, when she saw an unknown male accused person suddenly pulling down his pant and intentionally exposed his private parts to her minor children, aged 7 and 5 years, who were present there.
The complainant stated that the accused, who later left the store, caused sexual harassment upon the minor children by exhibiting his private parts to them.
In this connection, the Fatorda police registered an offence under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Section 8(2) of the Goa Children Act, and Section 11(ii) r/w Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. Fatorda police said the accused Tiburcio Monteiro, a resident of Ponda has since been arrested. Further investigations are underway.
