CANACONA
A resident of Barcem, Quepem taluka was arrested on Sunday for raping a minor girl.
According to Canacona police, mother of the minor daughter complained that prior to July 12, 2025, a person named Rupesh Yamkar, resident of Barcem, Quepem sexually assaulted the minor girl, due to which the complainants daughter conceived pregnancy.
Canacona police booked the accused Rupesh Yamkar under Section 4 of POCSO Act, section 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act and under Section 64 of BNS 2023. The accused is arrested and remanded to four days police custody.
