As there seemed no end to complaints of touts swarming around the Margao railway station, the police has decided to come down with a heavy hand on touting business. Superintendent of police South Santosh Desai held a joint meeting with police officials of the Margao police station and the Konkan railway police stations, besides the Margao Traffic cell, and the representatives of the taxi operators to work out the modalities to stop touting. The taxi operators complained that a group of persons are involved in the touting business for outside vehicles at the Margao railway station affecting their business and livelihood. They demanded stern action against the illegal touts. After the meeting, SP Santosh Desai told the meeting that the Margao police and the Konkan railway police will deployed two personnel each at the Margao railway station to stop the touting business.
