Muslim delegation presses police for  action on offensive Facebook posts

A delegation of Tanzeem-E-AALA Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza, Rumdamol has urged the South Goa district police to immediately arrest all the culprits involved in making derogatory Facebook remarks on Prophet Mohamed. After giving the delegation a patient hearing, District police, Chief, SP Tikam Singh Verma later told the media that the Vasco police has already arrested one accused person, saying the police are on the job to nab the accused named in the complaint. The delegation of Muslims demanded that the police conduct proper investigations and take strict action to prevent such incidents in the future. They pointed out that act of the accused persons constitutes offense under the BNS 2023 such as promoting enmity between different communities, deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
