An award winning film ‘Humans in the Loop’ written and directed by Aranya Sahay will be screened at the Museum of Goa (MOG) on September 12 at 7 pm. The 74 minute debut film from Sahay has received international acclaim, winning Best Debut Film at NYIFF ’25, the Grand Jury Award for Best Feature Film at IFFLA ’25, and the FIPRESCI Award for Best Feature Film in 2025. An Indian filmmaker based in Mumbai Sahay’s work explores the intersections of technology, society and identity. The film showcases the story of Nehma, an indigenous woman from Jharkhand, who takes up work as a data labeller in a remote AI centre. As she trains algorithms with patience and care, she begins to see the human biases embedded in technology and questions if AI can ever reflect an indigenous worldview.
