PONDA: St Anne Church, Ponda, celebrated Mother’s Jubilee on September 8, the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The nine-day novena, which began with the traditional Maddi, concluded with the Feast Mass led by Parish Priest Rev Fr Francis Rozario.
Catechism children actively took part by reading Mass readings, leading the rosary, singing the litany and performing in the Children’s Choir. In his homily, Fr Rozario reminded the faithful that, like Mother Mary, every mother is a spiritual companion to her children and deserves gratitude, love and respect.
As part of the celebration, all mothers received a blessing and souvenir, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony with their children and the parish priest. The occasion left the parish community spiritually enriched.
