PANAJI: The Bardez Konkani Asmitai Kendra, Mapusa, organised a felicitation programme in honour of renowned artist Prof. Rajan Fulari for his contribution in the field of art. The event was held on the occasion of the Kendra’s Founder’s Day. Prof. Subhash Naik, former principal of Shri Purushottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School and noted social worker, was the chief guest and felicitated Prof. Fulari with a memento, bouquet, shawl and shreefal. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Naik described Prof. Fulari as a pride of Goa, known for his humility and achievements.
Responding to the honour, Prof. Fulari said his roots remain in Goa and whatever he has achieved is for the state. He was also appreciated for his role in carrying forward Goan culture and tradition. President of the Kendra, Anagha Kamat, welcomed the guests and explained that the Kendra annually felicitates eminent personalities from Bardez on Founder’s Day. Poetess Nutan Sakardande highlighted the significance of the programme, while Nilima Pirankar introduced the felicitee. Secretary Sucheta Pai proposed the vote of thanks.
