The feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated at St Thomas Church, Aldona, after nine days of novenas on various Marian themes. Each day began with the Rosary, creatively presented by catechism children through skits, posters and presentations. Catechists prepared the liturgy, while the children actively participated in the Eucharistic celebrations. Activities during the novena included making a rosary, crown, star, heart, and garments of Mother Mary. The novenas culminated in the festive Eucharist, celebrated by Parish Vicar Fr Tomas Lobo and concelebrated by Asst Parish Priest Fr Agnel Simoes. This was followed by an entertainment programme in honour of mothers, featuring a welcome song, cake-cutting, skit, mime and dance appreciating their contribution. In his address, Fr Tomas praised mothers for their vital role. Ian and Emmanuela also shared reflections on motherhood. On the occasion, Fr Tomas’ song Noman Tuka Marie was officially launched on the St Thomas Parish YouTube channel. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by coordinator Pricila Fernandes, compered by Gianna Colaco and Rosanne D’Cruz.
