The Parish of St John the Baptist Church, Pilerne represented Calangute deanery to host a night vigil ‘Hearts of Hope’ (Devachea Mogachem Zagronn - Farikponnachem Zagronn’ on Friday night, in association with World Apostolate of Fatima, Goa Archdiocesan division. The night vigil was held across all deaneries in Goa, with a unifying message: Same prayers-Same time-One heart-across Goa; encouraging the faithful to pray for peace and reparation of humanity to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The vigil at the Pilerne Parish commenced at 8.45 pm with the First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and will culminate at 5.15 am on the following day, with the first Saturday devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. With an emphasis on the encyclical penned by Pope Francis ‘Delixit Nos’, the vigil was led through various segments like reparation prayers, adoration, worship, rosaries, procession and Holy Mass by representatives from parishes in the Calangute deanery.  “The vigil is a great way to honour the twin hearts of Jesus and Mary and unitedly seek reparation and peace in the world,” said Pilerne Parish Priest Fr Derick Fernandes, who has initiated first Saturday devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the parish.
