PANAJI: Air Marshal Sandesh Wagle PVSM AVSM VM (Retd.) will attend the Kargil Vijay Divas celebrations organised by the Ex-NCC Cadets Association at Azad Maidan, Panaji, on Saturday, July 26, at 11 am.
Cadets of 1 Goa Battalion NCC will present and reverse arms in respect of the martyrs and escort dignitaries for the wreath-laying ceremony. GHRDC security personnel will also assist in escorting dignitaries to the venue.
Air Marshal Wagle, who served as Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, took part in operations at Siachen Glacier and in Sri Lanka with the IPKF, and has commanded an IAF attack helicopter squadron in the western sector and in UN operations in Congo.
Brig. Kiran Kumar Thacker (Retd.), Col. Balkrishna Shirodkar (Retd.) and Lt. Col. Austin Collaco (Retd.) will also address the gathering. Citizens have been invited to attend in large numbers.
