The Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa will be closed for tourists, visitors, and others on November 8, on account of a special religious service in the Basilica. The Saturday Masses at 6 am and 7 am in Konkani will be celebrated for the Catholics as usual, but there will be no Mass in English at 8 am. A special religious service has been organised only for special invitees at 10.30 am.
Meanwhile, tourists, visitors, devotees and pilgrims have been cautioned to be alert from November 10 through November 23 and to move at their own risk in the compound of the Basilica of Bom Jesus. This is due to ongoing work to erect the pandal and other related works in preparation for the Novena and Feast of St Francis Xavier, stated Fr Patricio Fernandes SJ, Rector of the Basilica of Bom Jesus, for the attention of all government authorities, hotels, taxi operators, guides, tour operators, etc.
