MARGAO: Chandor Sports Club outplayed United Club Utorda 5-1 to move to the quarter-finals of 15th Davorlim Cup organised by Sporting Club Davorlim, at Davorlim Panchayat ground, on Tuesday.
Chandor opened the scoreline through Laximan Gaonkar in third minute with a neat placement while Utorda's Myron Pereira missed an open chance to level the score in the 14th minute. Later, Louie Noronha and Sildon Peixeto scored in the 16th and 21st minutes respectively for Chandor Club. Russell Monteiro found the net for Utorda in the 28th minute.
In the second half, United Club Utorda took control of the game and created many chances but luck didn't favour them as Chandor netted another two goals through Gele D'Costa and Viton Fernandes in the 36th and 48th minutes respectively.
Laximan Gaonkar was named man of the match.
