Residents in Goa now have an expanded avenue to report grievances beyond just potholes on roads.

The Public Works Department (PWD) has made available the ‘PWD Goa’ mobile app to handle grievances related to drinking water, sewerage, potholes, speed breakers and road signages, in an effort to streamline the handling of public grievances.

The Mobile App is available on iOS and Android platforms and can be downloaded from the respective App store. The App provides the Department with accurate information about the location of fault and affected assets, so they can ensure prompt redressal.

Citizens can follow the status of the complaint in the app, and get a notification when their complaint is resolved.

A 24x7 help-desk is also available for the benefit of the general public at the following phone numbers (7030055136, 7030055036). However, people are encouraged to use the Mobile App to help the Department respond more effectively.

When contacted, PWD Principal Chief Engineer Uttam Parsekar said although the app can be downloaded by the public, it will be officially launched after the elections.

He underscored the primary objective of ensuring prompt and efficient service delivery to the public.

The revamped mobile app will enable users to geo-tag their complaints, ensuring precise location data for effective resolution.

Users can categorise their grievances under specific sectors such as roads, water supply, sewerage, or buildings.

Complaints submitted through the app will be directed to the respective Junior Engineers (JEs) and contractors responsible for the designated areas, facilitating prompt action on repair and maintenance tasks.

In addition to facilitating complaint submission, the new mobile app will feature an advanced tracking system.

This system aims to ensure timely resolution of complaints by monitoring their progress within predefined time frames.
