A one-day event was hosted at Patanjali Research Foundation, attended by representatives of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The meeting focused on collaborative efforts to boost rural development, promote sustainable agriculture, and support farmers through innovative solutions.

The event began with a traditional Yajna, followed by a warm welcome from Ayurved Shiromani Acharya Balkrishna, who honoured the guests with shawls and mementoes. In his address, Acharya Balkrishna highlighted NABARD’s critical role in advancing rural enterprises and praised its support for animal husbandry and agriculture through schemes like the Kisan Credit Card, long-term loans, and the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund.

He emphasised Patanjali’s initiatives to increase farmers’ income, promote organic and natural farming, and develop the cultivation of medicinal herbs to prevent migration from Uttarakhand. Patanjali has also worked to double farmers’ incomes through direct procurement of products like honey.

In line with digital advancements, Patanjali, through the Bharuwa Solution platform, has promoted digital B-Banking, enhancing transparency in farm loans and ensuring fair pricing for produce. A newly developed soil testing kit (DKD) by Patanjali Organic Research Institute can measure key agricultural parameters within 20 minutes.

NABARD Chairman expressed strong interest in collaborating with Patanjali, recognising the mutual potential for impactful development. NABARD representative Suman Kumar reiterated the institution’s support for rural agriculture, crafts, and industries, and highlighted its role in resolving rural economic challenges.

Dr Vedpriya Arya from Patanjali shared insights on the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and discussed the cultivation of medicinal plants and non-resident ordinary (NRO) account awareness.

The delegation also visited Patanjali Food, Herbal Garden, and Research Centre, and lauded the organisation’s efforts. Key NABARD attendees included Pankaj Yadav, Suman Kumar, and others. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and presentation of certificates and tokens of appreciation.
