PANAJI: A 10-year-old boy has accused his mother of physically assaulting him with a steel rod during an altercation at their home in Bordem, Bicholim.
Although the alleged incident occurred on April 21, the matter was officially reported on April 29 with the assistance of a caseworker from a child helpline service.
Police sources said the alleged assault followed a heated dispute between the woman and her husband. The child sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bicholim for a medical examination.
Authorities have registered an FIR, and the case is currently under investigation.
