Dr RG Wiseman Pinto, Professor of Pathology and former Head of Department and Dean at Goa University, has published four new e-books covering key public health topics.Dr Pinto, who is also the president of the South Asian Academy of Cytopathology and Histopathology, said the publications focus on preventive health, disease awareness and medical education. The e-books include Walk the Walk – The Medical Benefits of Daily Walk, publications on Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and HPV vaccines, HPV-related cancers including those of the cervix, vulva, vagina, scrotum, penis, oral cavity, tonsil and oropharynx, as well as a study on causes of death and measures to tackle them. Another section addresses dementia and Alzheimer’s disease along with the PATH-O-SAFE survey. According to Dr Pinto, the books explain the health benefits of walking, HPV vaccination indications, benefits, side effects and contraindications.The e-books are available free of cost on www.pathoindia.com.
