PANAJI: Goan documentary Bhaangar Kalakusar Karigiri, directed and shot by debutant filmmaker Prachi Shirodkar, has won the Best Documentary Award at the Miseentage Indian Film Awards 2025. Edited by Mario Pimenta and presented in Konkani, the short film highlights the artistry of Goa’s traditional gold industry, featuring master artisans such as Pranay Shirodkar, Virendra Rivankar, and Rashila Shirodkar.
Prachi, an artist from Porvorim, has worked across short films, music videos, theatre, acting, and voiceovers. The Miseentage awards, organised by Film Fest Maniac, provide a digital platform for emerging Indian filmmakers. The recognition comes as Goan cinema marks its 75th anniversary, adding a new milestone to its growing national presence.
