PANAJI: Specialist and advocate for index funds, Sachin Vasant Padhye, is leading a unique mission in Goa that combines financial literacy with spoken English training. Since 2020, Padhye has been writing in Goan-Marathi newspapers to simplify index investing. From 2021, he began visiting colleges, including St Ambiye College and Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management. On August 11, at Vidya Prabodhini College in Porvorim, he addressed over 260 students in a single day—his largest audience yet.
Alongside investment awareness, he conducts sessions in conversational English, twice drawing groups of over 90 students at St Ambiye College. His outreach also extends to panchayats, NGOs like Dhavruk, and grassroots communities, as well as faculty and schoolteachers. Praised by educators and activists, Padhye is seen as a torchbearer of John Bogle’s index fund philosophy, empowering Goans with both financial confidence and communication skills.
