Poet, writer, director Kishor Arjun’s Marathi and Konkani poems received top honours at the State-level Konkani and Marathi poetry writing competition. The awards were recently presented at a public function held at Ravindra Bhavan. Kishor’s Konkani poem Shaar (city), which reflects urban life, won the state-level second prize. In the Marathi category, Kishor won the first prize for his poem 'Manikravanche Avartan', dedicated to the poetic universe of renowned Marathi poet Grace. “Both Shaar and Manikravanche Avartan are very close to my heart because of their emotional depth and the experiences they portray. Selecting both poems in different languages in the competition is very significant for me. Moreover, receiving an award for Konkani poetry writing for the first time is a matter of special joy,” said the poet.
