PANAJI: Panaji will host the third edition of Festa do Povo (Festival of the People) at Patto Plaza on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, 2026. The two-day, community-led event aims to bring residents together in a shared civic space to celebrate local culture and everyday life. The festival will feature performances such as Shigmo temple drums, Divli (lamp) dance, and live jazz and brass band music. Bands including Purple Rain Band and Forefront Band will perform during the event. An art corner will showcase works by Goan artists, along with informal storytelling sessions based on local folklore. A special children’s zone has been planned for families, while food stalls run by local home chefs and restaurants will offer a range of Goan dishes. The event will be held from 6.30 pm onwards at the mangrove-lined pedestrian spine at Patto Plaza. Entry is free and open to the public.
