PANAJI: The Goa Senior Journalists’ Association, in collaboration with the Directorate of Information and Publicity, the Senior Journalists’ Federation of India (SJFI) and the Goa Union of Journalists, will hold the first National Council Meeting of SJFI in Goa on March 14–15, 2026. Senior journalists from several states will take part in discussions on welfare and social security for media professionals.
The opening ceremony will be held on March 14 at 5 pm at the Goa Science Centre, Miramar. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will attend as chief guest. Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik will attend as guest of honour, and Information and Publicity Director Deepak Bandekar will be present. A seminar on social security for senior journalists in India will follow the opening session. The council’s business session will take place on March 15 at Maharaja Agrasen Bhavan, Old Goa.
