Minister for Archives and Archaeology Subhash Phal Dessai on Monday informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that the production of an animated web series chronicling the history of Goa’s liberation movement will commence in August 2025.
Unlike traditional productions, there would be no physical shooting involved for this project.
“As this Web Series is an animated Web Series therefore there is no shooting involved,” the minister said in response to an unstarred question by MLA Aleixo Lourenco.
The series, comprising 26 episodes of 10-12 minutes each, will use a mix of motion graphics, 2D and 3D animation, and stereo sound. The episodes will focus on various aspects of Goa’s struggle for freedom from Portuguese rule.
“The objective behind producing this animated web series is to create interest amongst the youth about the History of Goa’s Liberation,” Phal Dessai said.
The series is scheduled to be made available for telecast or public viewing around January 26, 2026 onwards.
