PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant lauded the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of India for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a significant achievement for the country.
"The operation, carried out in a rapid 25-minute window, showcases India's strength and determination," Sawant said at the Cabinet press briefing today. He praised the forces for dismantling nine terrorist camps located within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). "India is moving forward as a strong country, and we owe this success to our defence forces and our leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We salute them for taking such a bold step."
"The entire country stands united. The Government of Goa and its citizens are with the nation,” Sawant said, adding that Goa, being a coastal state, is maintaining high alert in both its districts. “The coast guard, police and other agencies are fully alert and monitoring the situation.”
Sawant also announced that a blackout will be conducted at 7 pm at selective locations in both North and South Goa districts as part of the Operation Abhyaas exercise.
“This is a precautionary step to ensure Goa remains secure in any eventuality,” the Chief Minister said.
